MGuide is a free campus map for the University of Michigan. This policy covers what happens when you use it.
MGuide uses GoatCounter, Cloudflare Web Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity to understand aggregate traffic, device types, navigation paths, and interface issues. We don't collect names, emails, account data, or class schedules through analytics, and analytics data is not sold or used for advertising.
If you tap the locate button (the blue dot), your position is used locally on your device to show where you are on the map and calculate walking directions. Your location is never sent to our servers.
Your preferences (dark mode, favorites, class schedule) are saved in your browser's local storage. This stays on your device. Clear it anytime in your browser settings.
If you send feedback, MGuide stores your message, optional follow-up email, page context, app version, and basic device context so I can understand and fix the issue. IP addresses and browser identifiers are hashed for abuse prevention and are not shown in notification emails.
Map tiles, weather data, and walking directions come from third-party APIs. These services may log basic request data (like IP addresses) per their own policies.
MGuide caches map data on your device so it works without an internet connection. No data is sent during offline use.
If this policy changes, we'll update this page. Questions: Contact / Feedback.
